TRI Air Testing’s Sandra Dudek was in Atlanta recently for the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) annual Fire Rescue International (FRI) show. She shares a bit of her experience here with the TRI Air Testing Blog:
Last weekend’s FRI 2011 conference was partially interrupted by the impending arrival of Hurricane Irene, which churned its way up the East Coast. Flight access at Atlanta’s very busy Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport was going to be severely limited, and this forced many attendees and exhibitors to leave in a hurry. Still, I have to say this far from spoiled the event. FRI is a high-quality show. I was grateful to connect again in person with numerous TRI Air Testing clients as well as meet a number of new people in the field. Seeing everyone was great!
We talked about testing the quality of breathing air and the coming storm all in the same sentences–worry and planning was definitely all around us. Municipal Fire Chiefs, Military Fire & Emergency Services attendees and many distributors and vendors from around the world stopped by to see us in our booth and share their stories, including talk about current and future utilization of NFPA 1989 in compressed air testing and for ensuring personnel safety.
Thank you all for being part of the event. We hope everyone came through the storm okay, and wish all the best for you and your communities wherever you are based.
We look forward to seeing you, the IAFC and others in the fire and emergency services fields in Denver next year for FRI 2012.
