Nearly 70% of the 750,000+ firefighters in the United States are volunteers. Approximately 67% of the 30,000+ fire departments in the country are Volunteer Fire Departments (VFDs). TRI Air Testing invites you to help these essential responders breathe safe air.
Nominate a VFD for the 2013 Air Testing Grant Program.
TRI Air Testing is giving away one fantastic Grand Prize ($500 cash grant + 1 NFPA 1989 Compressed Breathing Air Test) and 200 Second Place Prizes (1 NFPA 1989 Compressed Breathing Air Test).
Who is eligible? Volunteer fire departments (VFD) across the United States that have a working breathing air compressor. We welcome nominations from the VFDs themselves and from non-VFDs that want to help their VFD peers.
VFDs often operate with tighter finances than more urbanized departments. This means that as they provide essential protection of people and structures in their areas, they may do so without as many standard safety checks on equipment, such as breathing gear.
TRI believes providing quality air testing is an important part of the safety of volunteer fire fighters across our great nation. They cannot protect us if they aren’t protecting themselves. Safe air means safer firefighting personnel.
