We choose to use this onsite method because moisture content measured from a low-pressure sample container can be wrong\u00a0due to the loss or gain of moisture through interaction with the interior surfaces of the sample container including the polymeric and elastomeric seal. Also, differences between the sampling temperature and the temperature when the moisture analysis is conducted remotely can introduce error into moisture results.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When moisture (water vapor) compressed air \u00a0test results\u00a0on the analytical report show values of\u00a0&gt;3900 ppm or &gt;22\u00b0 F this means that the air\u00a0being tested has more moisture than the\u00a0TRI Air Testing methodology is able to\u00a0measure. Typically this means that the\u00a0compressed air system has no functioning\u00a0equipment for lowering the water vapor\u00a0level. The air in the compressed air system\u00a0lines when exiting the compressor is\u00a0probably saturated with water vapor and\u00a0liquid water will be condensing. The\u00a0condensed liquid water will then be\u00a0exhausted to the room through a liquid\u00a0collection\/purge system. The compressed\u00a0air is still saturated with water vapor and\u00a0when cooled, such as entering an air\u00a0conditioned building, more liquid water will\u00a0condense in the piping system. The\u00a0concerns of high moisture as water vapor\u00a0and especially as liquid water are that they\u00a0can promote corrosion and microbiological<br \/>\ngrowth in the piping system.<\/p>\n<p>There are three main types of \u00a0compressed air system dryer methods for lowering the\u00a0amount of water vapor in the air; a\u00a0refrigerated dryer, a desiccant dryer or a\u00a0membrane dryer. A refrigerated dryer is\u00a0capable drying the air to at least -5\u00b0 F\u00a0ambient pressure dew point or 973 ppm. A\u00a0desiccant dryer is capable of drying the air\u00a0to at least -50 \u00b0 F ambient pressure dew\u00a0point or 67 ppm.
